Cytogenetics / FISH

Karyotype

Karyotyping, or chromosomal analysis, can provide insights into diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction of disease in many acute and chronic leukemias and lymphomas. Traditional G-banding for metaphase analysis with specific cell culturing and read out by two independent cytotechnologists ensures optimal results.

  • Best-in-industry turnaround time (3 days)
  • Cell-specific culture (myeloid, B-cell, T-cell)
  • <1% culture failure*

FISH

With its ability to bind to only specific parts of a chromosome and spotlight abnormalities through their tagged fluorescence on cells when viewed under a fluorescence microscope, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH, also known as molecular cytogenetics), can identify abnormalities that may be missed at a macro level in karyotype, but can captured on a micro level in FISH.

  • Best-in-industry turnaround time (2 days)
  • Disease-focused panels for myeloid, lymphoid, and plasmacytic disorders including cell enrichment
  • Complete suite of hematopoietic FISH probes for custom panels and follow up
  • HER2, ALK, ROS1, MET, RET, 1p/19q, PTEN and UroVysion for solid tumor analysis
